I always like how Johnny plays a village idiot but actually has a brain that’s fortified and extremely smart working; can suss the situation out very quickly.

I noticed that no one mentioned how the British ended the practices of indentured servitude, infanticide, and sati (the practice of self immolation on funeral pyres). Famines were also common in India before the British invaded (from the 12th century) so the idea that the British alone caused famines is debatable. It’s not to suggest that the British empire was all good, but Christian values meant that many of the practices which we would now see as despicable were ended under British rule.
